We have received the following email from Metro regarding the status of the BRT that will run through Colorado Boulevard. Metro does not agree with conducting a cone study but instead are in favor of doing a simulation using a computer. This decision left the Eagle Rock community divided. Some think a demonstration cone study is designed to fail because it will only implement coning off one lane without timing the streets lights and actual buses running on the dedicated bus lane. There are others who think this simulation will not accurately emulate real life scenarios that occur along Colorado Blvd such as cars parallel parking or trying to make left turns, regular buses dropping off bus riders, trucks delivering goods to local businesses, and the rush hour traffic. Also, the simulation will not visually show the entire community the impending changes that will happen in the near future.
